RE: Tires for 'Burb 2500 - 245 or 265's?

I had the same question and there are several posts here on the topic if you do a search. Since I want to keep the factory alloy wheels (6.5") and my 4.10 gear ratio, I think I am sticking with the 245's.

RE: Need to purchase another set of TT keys. Please help.

Good question...I locked the keys in the TT back in July...luckily it was when we were camping at the County Fair about 10 minutes from home! So, I would like an extra set or two to put in the truck, etc. It sounds like ordering from FIC is the way to go for the door key. Where is the best place to get the compartment key?

RE: RV Cover For Winter: Is it a must?

Do a search, there are lots of threads about covers. I am still trying to decide whether to buy one for our new TT. It is certainly not a must.

RE: storing tv's

I see the OP is from someone in Michigan. Since there are members here from north to south, I think "winter storage" could mean quite a range of temperatures. We often have temps below freezing in NJ, so I think we'll bring the LCD's in for the winter. Maybe I can put the 26" LCD in our bedroom instead of the 13" CRT!

RE: Blue Rhino Tank Exchange

I am usually pretty thrifty and I know Rhinos are more expensive. However, last weekend I ran out of gas on the grill at home on Labor Day, and many places were closed. So, I paid an extra $5 or so and got a Rhino at the nearest gas station. Yes, sometimes you pay for convenience...in this instance it was well worth it for me. I have never seen 30 lb tanks at any of the Rhino dealers near me.

RE: 8.1L Suburban/Yukon XL - Floor is Hot!

You're talking about the area in the passenger footwell, just ahead of the seat and by the center console. Exactly. Thanks for the responses.

RE: Multiple tie-out question

We are pretty new to camping, and found that our 4 dogs tied out were often getting tangled. It is difficult to tie out all 4 of them far enough away from each other so that they cannot touch. We then saw several people using the folding pet fences (they come in 24" to 48" high). So we bought one of the 24" fences. The fence works well for the 3 dogs that are around 20 lbs or less, since they can lay down with each other without getting tangled up. We also place the fence on one of our plastic awning mats so that the dogs are comfortable! The big dog is still tied out on a long rope/leash. However, the smallest dog (chihuahua) has figured out how to climb the fence! Good Luck.

RE: Parking Travel Trailer in Yard

Interesting thread. What is bad about storing your TT on a dirt/gravel driveway?

8.1L Suburban/Yukon XL - Floor is Hot!

We finally got to take a few good trips toward the end of the summer with our Yukon XL and TT, and DW sits on the passenger side. She took her shoes off while we were driving, and she said that the floor was so hot that she could not keep her bare feet on it! We have the factory carpeting and rubber Husky liners on the floor. I looked under the truck, and it looks like an expanded portion of the exhaust pipe (maybe the size of a large coffee can) is right in that area under the floor. I'll try to look again with a flashlight to see if there is any heat shield there. Temp gauge and other gauges looked fine. Has anyone else noticed this HOT FLOOR? Is it normal?

RE: Patio Mat Storage

We bought storage bags with ours. They go under the queen bed with the camp chairs.

RE: Water filtration

Try rvwaterfilterstore.com. THeir website has some good info on filters. I bought an F1 canister filter from them and it works well.

RE: Open your TT windows for sway control?

That's what I thought...thanks!

Open your TT windows for sway control?

A co-worker said to open two windows in your TT (one on each side) to reduce sway. I guess the theory is that if a semi passes you, or wind is blowing against the side, it has a "relief" point to blow through to the other side. I am a bit skeptical, as I have never heard this before. Does anyone know if this actually helps?

RE: 30 foot or 34 foot...is the 4 foot difference a big deal?

We went through the same thing purchasing our 1st TT this year. We went with a 34 foot and are happy with it. No problems towing so far.

Looking leads to BUYING...DANGER...DANGER...DANGER...WARNING SIGNS TRIPPED (insert LOUD siren sound here)!!! :B Joe. Hey Joe - Enjoy the tour and let us know if you find out about the bike rack. RE: Jayco webiste does not have 2009 models?

You are correct, Jayco has not updated their website with the 2009 models yet. Some dealers have some pictures of the 09 models they have in stock but I have not seen a picture of the new bike rack option either. Thanks...so it's not just me. I would have thought that they would have them advertised on their website before they hit the dealers. Oh well. BTW, Rob_Fla, nice looking rig!

Ball to bumper. Thanks. Is that the way all manufacturers measure them?
